The Library is actively implementing a strategy to establish Open Access (OA) publishing agreements ( known as Transformative Agreements). It makes it possible for researchers to publish their articles in open-access journals without having to pay an additional fee called the Article Processing Charge (APC). Instead, the APC is included in the subscription fee that the institution pays to the publisher. More detailed information about Transformative Agreement (TA) can be found in Transformative Agreement Guide.
ORCID stands for Open Researcher and Contributor ID. It is designed to be a life-long unique ID that connects you to your research contributions and affiliations. It is widely accepted, and more and more funders and publishers use ORCID iDs to streamline the fund application and manuscript submission process. Watch this video for more information.
The EdUHK Library ORCID Registration Service is intended to help EdUHK researchers automatically update their ORCID publication list. By registering with the Library, EdUHK researchers can upload their research outputs from the EdUHK Research Repository directly to ORCID and create a new ORCID iD during the process if they do not already have an ORCID iD.
Journal metrics are used to assess the impact and quality of journals. The table below lists the tools for impact measurements:

The Research Grants Council (RGC) Publication Gateway, introduced in May 2023, is a significant part of RGC's Open Access Plan. This online database serves as a platform for accessing information on peer-reviewed journal articles that emerge from research projects funded by the RGC. This comprehensive information includes details such as project titles, principal investigators, corresponding author(s), and hyperlinks to refereed journal articles made available by the universities, as well as alternative access methods to these articles.
Most publishers offer author services which provide publishing tips, tools and resources for the scholar who plans to publish their paper:
