The Eigenfactor Score measures the number of times articles from the journal published in the past five years have been cited in the Journal Citation Reports (JCR) year. You can find a journal's Eigenfactor Score on Eigenfactor.org (publicly accessible) or Journal Citation Reports (JCR).
The Eigenfactor Score, similar to the Journal Impact Factor, however, differs from the Journal Impact Factor in several key ways:
Note: Eigenfactor Scores are only available for journals indexed in Journal Citation Reports (JCR). Besides, Eigenfactor Scores will be based only on citing publications in JCR. (i.e., citations from publications not in JCR will not be factored into Eigenfactor Scores).
Step 1: Go to Journal Citation Reports (JCR)
Step 2: Type in the journal title
Step 3: Click the journal's name and scroll down until you see the heading for "Additional Metrics" (towards the bottom of the page). The Eigenfactor Score should be displayed on the left-hand side of the page.
Step 1: Go to Eigenfactor.org
Step 2: Enter the name of the journal into the search bar
Step 3: Look for the journal in your results list
Step 4: The journal's Eigenfactor Score (EF) should be displayed in the third column from the left.
