What is AR?

Augmented reality (AR) is an interactive experience of a real-world environment where the objects that reside in the real-world are enhanced by computer-generated perceptual information.

From Oxford Dictionaries:

How does AR work?

AR is based on a background of real environment, modified by digital objects, which can appear in designated areas of the background. For example, Pokemon AR which lets you catch wizards and the IKEA app that let you move furniture in the room.
