Research Impact

Overview

Article Impact measures impact at the article level. This is done by counting the number of times an article is cited by other articles. New data sources allow researchers to measure the impact of their articles, such as the number of tweets, mentions in newspapers, references in policy documents, and reviews, among others. We only focus on the traditional measures using citation counts.

Sources of Article-level Metrics

Scopus is one of the databases that allow you to track citation counts of publications. These citation counts are derived based on the publications indexed in Scopus.

Web of Science is also another commonly used database to find citation counts. The citation counts are derived from publications indexed in the Web of Science collection.

Google Scholar can help you to explore the citing articles for a specific target article. "Cited by" offers the link to access the list of articles within Google Scholar that have cited the target article. This will provide you with valuable insights into the scholarly impact and influence of the target article within the academic community.
