Plan S is the open access initiative of cOAlition S. The aim of Plan S is to accelerate the transition to open access and make research findings more widely available to the public. Under Plan S, all scholarly publications resulting from publicly funded research must be made freely available to everyone, without barriers such as paywalls, embargoes or other restrictions. This includes research articles, monographs, book chapters, conference proceedings, and other publications.
Plan S is designed to promote greater transparency, collaboration, and innovation in research, and to ensure that the results of publicly funded research are more widely accessible to the public and to other researchers.
